Rockstar Games recently released a teaser that fans thought was for Grand Theft Auto 6 but instead of fans eagerly looking forward to the game, people became angry. The teaser, which was a mysterious post on the social networks, did not offer specific information, and the fans felt that they are made fun of after waiting for years for the official information about the outstanding game.
This has mainly emanated from the period between the release of the previous game, GTA V in the year 2013. Rockstar has kept mum on the sequel and the eventual leaks only add to the theories that build up excitement. The last teaser, for which many expected some insights, became a continuation of manipulation based on the desire of the community. The audience immediately expressed their dissatisfaction on social networks.
Some critics stated that Rockstar only teased them for too long, or at least they have only played the rumors about GTA 6 for years. They criticized Rockstar for seeming to prioritize making money from GTA Online rather than fulfilling request for new one-player mode or information about GTA 6.
It is not the first time that Rockstar has come under fire for its content. Previous issues with GTA Online’s microtransactions and no ones really communicated well has left a rather sour taste in the mouth of some Grand Theft Auto fans. Even so, this latest teaser left me with a feeling that this was a tipping point and that the studio no longer cares about its fanbase.
However, there are still those who give credit to technology and are waiting for a positive moment to happen. An official reveal is expected shortly and the idea is to offer a revolutionary experience that has become synonymous with the franchise. For now, however, the teaser has only served to widen the chasm between the studio and the eagerly anticipation mass. Fans are clear: they don’t want to see enigmatic posts. They have demanded openness, for trailers, and a peek into gameplay. Anything short of this only aggravates them further.
