Samsung Introduces Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus with 8K Recording Capable 64MP Camera The three Galaxy S20 phones are the first phones to offer 8K video recording.
Samsung has made great changes to the screen, battery, and camera departments, introducing the Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus. Samsung has used an even better camera than its other phones, the S20 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus has a dynamic AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The 6.7-inch panel of this phone has a resolution of 1440p + and an aspect ratio of 20: 9. It is wide but it is higher than that.
The back of the phone has a 12-megapixel main camera with a large pixel size of 1.8µm. The main camera of the S10K had a pixel size of 1.4µm. The camera has an aperture of f / 1.8 and features optical image stabilization (OIS).
The phone’s telephoto camera has the highest resolution ever, a 64-megapixel zoom camera.
Samsung has advertised it with a 3x hybrid zoom and 30x super-resolution zoom. It also has a bright aperture of OIS f / 2.0.
With a 64-megapixel camera, the phone can record 8K videos. All three Galaxy S20 phones are the first to offer 8K video recording.
Note that the single frame of 8K video is 33 megapixels, which is much higher than the resolution of many current flagships.
The phone has an ultra-wide-angle (120 degrees) camera of 12 megapixels. All three Galaxy S20 phones have the same camera. The Plus version also has a DepthVision camera for depth-based effects.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus has a Snapdragon 865 or Exynos 990 chipset. It depends on the market which chip will be on the phone. This phone has 5G connectivity (sub-6GHz and mmWave) by default. 4G models of this phone will also be offered in some countries.
The basic configuration of this phone is 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. A better option is 12 GB RAM and up to 512 GB storage. The storage can be expanded up to 1TB thanks to the microSD card slot on the phone.
The phone has a 4500 mAh battery, which can be charged fast with a 25W wired charger or a 15W wireless charger.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus 8GB / 128GB (FiveG connectivity option) is priced at 00 1,100 or 99 1,199. The phone will be available in Cloud Blue, Cosmic Gray, and Cosmic Black.
Samsung Galaxy S20
Samsung has not introduced any “E” model of this phone. The Samsung Galaxy S20 is the smallest of the three phones. Its display is 6.2 inches. Its screen size is the same as its predecessor, but a little wider and higher due to the 20: 9 aspect ratio. Like the S20 Plus, its screen has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a resolution of 1440p +.
Its 10-megapixel selfie camera is similar to the S10 generation, but its punch hole is now smaller and in the middle. S20 Plus also has the same front camera. Unlike the S10 Plus, it does not have a depth sensor on the front.
The rear camera of the Galaxy S20 is the same 12-megapixel main module.
It also has a 64-megapixel telephoto capable of 8K recording and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. A key difference in the S20 is the lack of a depth vision sensor.
Samsung has also introduced an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint reader for security this year. The battery capacity of this phone is 4000 mAh. It can be charged with 25W wire and 15W wireless charging.
Both the S20 phones are IP68 certified, meaning they are dust and somewhat waterproof. Like the Plus model, it has a Snapdragon 865 or Exynos 990 chip with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
Samsung has introduced only one storage option in the S20, but its storage can be expanded with the help of a microSD card. The phone will be available in Cosmic, Cloud Blue, and Cloud Pink.
The 4G, 8GB / 128GB model of this phone starts at 900 Euros while the FiveG model costs 1000 Euros or 99 999.
Note that it supports sub-6GHz on FiveG.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy S20 and 20 Plus have already started and their delivery will start from March 13. Upon pre-ordering, Samsung will offer a free pair of Galaxy Buds Plus worth 170 Euros. Note that the Forge version of this phone will only be available in the basic configuration.
