GTA 5 vs. GTA San Andreas
Grand theft auto (GTA) series are some of the most popular games designed by Rockstar games. The action-adventure game is filled with action, drama, and a lot of suspense. Although numerous popular games in the series, GTA San Andreas and GTA 5 are the two most famous and played versions of the game.
GTA San Andreas, which was initially released on October 26, 2004, and GTA 5, released on September 17, 2013, are delightful games. It ensures the player enjoys the freedom to do whatever they want inside a virtual city.
However, there are a few differences that these games share in terms of their gameplay, graphics, and quality of control inside the game.
Plot
GTA San Andreas is based around Carl Johnson, who escapes from Los Santos, San Andreas due to the high pressure of gang troubles, corruption, and drugs. However, in the early ’90s, Carl discovers that someone has murdered his mom and his family is no longer together while all the childhood friends are also living an uncomfortable life.
After returning to the city, he comes across corrupt cops who attempt to frame him for homicide offenses. CJ then embarks on a new journey that takes him around San Andreas to save his friends, reunite his family, and take hold of the streets. Read more about GTA San Andreas.
In GTA 5, we once again see the fictitious state of San Andreas located around Southern California. There are three main protagonists in the story. Michael De Santa (retired bank robber), Franklin Clinton, and Trevor Philips (drug dealer and arms smuggler). The game revolves around the three men trying to commit various heists while under a lot of pressure from powerful criminals and corrupt government agencies.
Gameplay
GTA San Andreas allows the user to roam around freely in the city, including stealing vehicles, eating food, working out, and doing various other tasks. Although this might seem a lot of fun to you and a gamer-heaven back in the days, GTA 5 provides a whole new dimension to the game.
GTA 5 is released in two main variants. GTA 5 story mode and a Roleplay mode type make it one of the most popular games around the globe. Although you might be able to enjoy free play perks in the story mode, the roleplaying model is based entirely on roaming around the city and creating your own story.
You might be able to create your gang, purchase and customize vehicles, buy property across the town, plan a bank robbery, or you might even take up various jobs like police and lawyers, etc. It adds a whole new dimension to the game and allows the user to enjoy more flexibility. Graphics
In terms of graphics, GTA 5 is the better game. The game supports 4k resolution, which means that you will get a much clearer picture and would be able to enjoy the game in HDR settings which you won’t find in GTA San Andreas. It brings the experience to life and what you might have seen in GTA San Andreas becomes a lot more vivid in GTA 5 since they both represent the fictional state of San Andreas.
Furthermore, the effects inside GTA 5 are exceptional and would present a much more enjoyable experience.
Conclusion
GTA 5 and GTA San Andreas are both excellent games and the best in the series. Although many players still prefer playing GTA San Andreas over GTA 5 due to its gameplay and the sense of nostalgia, GTA 5 might have the upper hand. If we conclude the judgment based on the graphics, effects, gameplay, and even the missions are more tactical, requiring technique and skill to complete.
